The Girls Gone Green Extravaganza at Riverside Arts Market

This Saturday, September 4, The Girls Gone Green presents an extravaganza of green and healthy living presentations, demos and activities that you do NOT want to miss! My friends over at the GGG opened their little green book and invited experts in health and healthy eating, green living, animal welfare and more to share their best information, tips and samples with YOU!

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Hilltop Stage at RAM, learn about improving your health from Dr. Repole, taste delightful vegan culinary creations from Dig Foods‘ Sean Sigmon and, yes, hear from yours truly, The Organic Adventurer, about the “Top ten ways to lead a healthier, greener life!” There will be many other presentations as well as opportunities to meet and get your photo taken with the awesomest mascot ever, the GGG Pea Pod. You’ll also meet Joe Talentino, of CW17’s
I Know Jax, and Julie Watkins, of Action News Jax.

The following is a tentative speaker schedule. As you can see, the day will be packed with fun and good information, so hang out at RAM as long as you can and enjoy the food (I am SO trying one of the sweet potato tacos I heard about on I Know Jax!), music, cool crafts, creative people and fun!

10:30 Cate DiCarlo – Cate will tell us all about The Girls Gone Green and the upcoming Veg Fest.
11:00 Sean Sigmon – Vegan food can be simple or gourmet, but, as Sean will demonstrate, it’s always tasty!
12:00 Adam Sugalski – Adam is a board member of the Lotus Elephant Sanctuary and local defender of circus animals via JaxProtest.
12:30 Jyoti Chawla – Jyoti offers a Pecha Kucha-style presentation. In case you haven’t been to one of the exciting Pecha Kucha events around town, it’s a fun, fast-paced presentation format.
1:00 Dr. Jon Repole – Dr. Repole, of Jacksonville Health & Wellness Center, has all sorts of health tips to offer and can answer your questions and get you on the road to wellness.
1:45 Jen Watson – Jen is the president and founder of Pit Sisters, a local animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing a much-maligned breed and finding the love-a-bull pups “fur”ever homes.
2:15 The Organic Adventurer – Get 10 tips you can use TODAY to help you live a healthier and more environmentally friendly life, and find out what in the world a green living consultation is!
3:00 The GGG Pea Pod Demo – Learn to make delicious dairy-free ice cream from The Pea Pod. ‘Nuff said!
3:30 Marc Wisdom – Springfield Brew Crew‘s Marc talks about (what else?) beer. What a great way to end the day!

There will also be a green crafts station all day for the kids thanks to Green Lotus Organics.

There’s SO much more to this event, so visit www.thegirlsgonegreen.com and the Facebook events page at https://www.facebook.com/events/512790968735070/. I hope you can come out to this great green event, and I specifically hope to see you at 2:15!
